Is the house of history built on foundations of sand? Recovering Earth’s Lost Civilization and Reawakening to Consciousness

Learn More

Disturbing new evidence, not yet widely known or understood by the general public, has recently been published in leading scientific journals confirming that multiple fragments of a disintegrating giant comet struck the earth around 12,800 years ago. The impacts set in motion a mysterious cataclysmic episode (known to geologists as the Younger Dryas) that caused worldwide extinctions of animal species and changed the face of the Earth forever. Established theories about the emergence of civilization cite the invention of agriculture and monumental architecture some 11,600 years ago—immediately after the Younger Dryas cataclysm. But in this controversial presentation bestselling author Graham Hancock argues that archaeologists, by not taking account of the cataclysm in their timeline and model of the origins of civilization, have gravely misinterpreted history. What the record attests to is not the sudden invention of technology, but a transfer of technology to hunter-gatherers from the survivors of a more advanced “lost” civilization. From Fingerprints of the Gods, published in 1995, to his explosive new book Magicians of the Gods, published in the US on 10 November 2015, Graham Hancock has spent more than 20 years in the front lines of historical and archaeological controversy. In the teeth of opposition from orthodox historians, and an ideologically driven consensus, a new paradigm of prehistory is emerging that will change everything we have been taught to believe about the origins of civilization — and about ourselves.

The Ark and the Grail

Learn More

The fate of the lost Ark of the Covenant is the greatest mystery of the Bible. More than two hundred references to this golden chest, built to contain the two tablets of the Ten Commandments, are found in the Old Testament. These references continue up until the moment when the Ark is installed in the Holy of Holies of the Temple of Solomon. After that, however, it is almost never spoken of again and when the Babylonians under Nebuchadnezzar sacked the Temple in 587 BC and looted its contents they did not find the Ark there. The evidence is compelling that the sacred relic must have been taken from the Temple at some point during the four hundred years between the time of Solomon (970 BC – 931 BC) and 587 BC. The questions are – who removed it, why, where did they take it to, does it still exist and, if it does, where is its resting place today?

In The Sign and the Seal: A Quest for the Lost Ark of the Covenant, the book that first brought him to public prominence and launched his international career as a No 1 bestselling author, Graham Hancock provides astonishing answers to these questions. In this talk he will recount his journey of discovery and the meticulous research that led him to the last resting place of the Ark. Sharing his excitement we will learn how he followed obscure clues found in ancient myths and Biblical tales, gleaned occult knowledge from the coded Grail epic of Wolfram Von Eschenbach, dug deep into the obscure and secretive workings of the enigmatic Knights Templar unravelling secret messages concealed in their great projects of architecture and geometry such as Chartres Cathedral in France, and traced the route and hidden motives of the eighteenth-century Scottish adventurer and Freemason James Bruce in his remarkable travels to discover the source of the Nile. In this way, step by step, Graham pursues the Ark from its source in ancient Egypt – where Moses was reared in the household of the Pharaoh – through Sinai to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount and thence, by way of Egypt again, to its final and most unexpected resting place in the remote highlands of Africa where an Old Testament form of Judaism is still practiced and where the legends of King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba are still very much alive.

The War on Consciousness

Learn More

In this talk which touches on Gnosticism, good and evil, the Great Pyramid, the mystery of death, altered states of consciousness and parallel dimensions, Graham Hancock argues that our society is over-monopolistically dependent on the alert problem solving state of consciousness and ignores, marginalises and demonises the contribution of non-ordinary states of consciousness at its peril. For example, we run the risk of prison, confiscation of our property and public humiliation if we make use of time-honoured sacred methods to explore our own consciousness. Yet surely the exploration and expansion of the miracle of consciousness is the essence of what it is to be human? And in what sense can we claim to be free when we, as adults, are forbidden to make sovereign decisions regarding our own consciousness which is, after all, the most intimate, the most precious, and the most sapient part of ourselves? Graham’s research into the ancient Egyptian books of the dead, and into shamanism, Upper Palaeolithic cave art, and other means have led to his hypothesis that experiences in induced altered states of consciousness have played a fundamental and much misunderstood role in the story of humanity. Recent research has produced intriguing scientific evidence, which this talk will review, that such experiences may even allow interaction with other levels of reality not normally accessible to our senses and thus may hold the key to the future of our species.

War God

Learn More

Graham Hancock writes fiction as well as non-fiction and in this presentation he will introduce the fascinating research that led him to War God, his series of epic adventure novels about the Spanish Conquest of Mexico. Against a backdrop of witchcraft and sorcery, deities and demons, War God, follows a diverse cast of characters through one of history’s bloodiest chapters. When a young monk leaves his monastery to spread the Christian faith under the depraved Father Muñoz, he quickly learns that his master’s motives are far from selfless. Meanwhile, two native American women, one a young girl called Tozi, stand at the bottom of a pyramid, waiting to be lead to the top where their hearts will be cut out by the emperor Moctzeuma. Together these women must confront and triumph over physical and spiritual danger to survive what is about to come.

War God is an epic story of the clash of two great empires and two gods of war. Five hundred desperate adventurers pit themselves against the most brutal armies of the ancient Americas, armies hundreds of thousands strong. War God explores several of the lingering mysteries surrounding the pre-colonial cultures of Central America, such as the prophesied return of banished peace god Quetzalcoatl, the horrific institution of ritual human sacrifice, and the visions of the saints that apparently drove the Christians to genocide. It is an epic adventure with a true story at its root; a tale of how the human capacity for love can survive, even in the worst possible circumstances and the darkest of times.

Being an outsider

Learn More

“I’ve always been an ‘outsider’,” says Graham Hancock, “and throughout more than 40 years of my career as a writer, whether my subject was foreign aid, or the possibility of a lost civilization, or the real significance of altered states of consciousness in human culture, I have found myself again and again in opposition to the mainstream.” In this talk Graham for the first time shares the story of his own life journey and the lessons he has learned from it.
